Pre Production A couple of filming styles, shots, angle etc
This was an idea for the establishing shot, the panning of the camera symbolises conveys the tone and mood of the opening sequence.
I think this shot could be very effective particularly because of the birds tweeting, it creates a lot of verisimilitude, also filming a skate park with no one there really asks the audience questions.
Similar to my previous point this, the ambience creates a slot of realism also the empty shot creates mystery.
Apart from the unsteadiness I particularly like this shot has it symbolises the plot and foreshadows some of the future events and asks the audience questions such has why is there slide? and why is it being shown?

Sound & Music Research
The sound elements in my production are veru key, has this will set the mood and the tone for my thriller opening sequence, and it is essential that they meet the conventions of the thriller genre for example, certain sound affects can symbolise a flash back or a change in the narrative structure.
A first piece of compostion which, I will consisider using is an ochestral piece...
I think this will be a very effective piece for my thriller genre, it provides suspense and tension, the use of slow viloins will create mystery and a feeling of ambience, also this was used in Lord of the Rings which was an oscar winning film for its music, also this piece will be effective for our our genre which is supernatural like Lord of the rings.
In terms of sound effects, I think there is a lot my group can learn from this piece.
If you listen carefully, there isnt any sound for a good 30-40 seconds or so then the sound emerges, also the sharp object relates to the punchy sounds, which makes it seem more realistic and therefore provides more versimilitude. In terms of our opening thriller sequence, I think this would very effective, has we can create a sound like this to symbolise the Ghosts in our thriller. This sound effect came from the Oscar winning film Psycho, which proved to be iconic in not just Cinma history but also in the thriller genre.
We were considering a child or more to be in our production, this was to prove fortunate for the music, has I researched on some disturbed childish music.
The childish music we thought would be an effective piece for our thriller genre, has it kind of distortes the symbolism with children, and fits with sort of paranormal feel in our production, it fits in with ouur typical thriller conventions, has there isnt a villian or a hero, but just a girl with dark aspects, the music will symbolise this, this music also relates to the sort split personality which she has. This clip was taken off a film called chuckie which was based on demented children.
One of our most recent ideas was to use vocals in our thriller music sequence which we thought would be effective.
The vocals in this thriller are very effective, thery are sort of ironic and scary at the same time, the music is very simplistic but the echo of the voices really carry it through, this again relates to our thriller genre to do with Ghosts and what not. Also if we used vocals it sould help to provide some mystery and perhaps foreshodow some of the events that will come up. This clip was taken from a piece called Night mare on Elms street, which has a plot similar to ours.

(Pre-Production) Location Research for our Thriller opening sequence
This was one idea, I had suggested for our production, our first idea was about Vampires, and one of the hit thrillers "Twilight" had a forest like lo
cation which would of fit ideally for our production, its ambience like feel, really adds to the verisimilitude which we are trying to achieve within our Composition, this location would of also fitted with our second theme (Ghosts), has its still and secluded feel, matches the awkwardness and the paranormal feel towards ghosts.
Our second idea for a location was a school, I personally thought th
One of my ideas was filming at a shopping or shop location, I thought this would be particularly effective has it provides mystery
and suspense (claustrophobic, small environment), also it would be easier to establish thriller conventions i.e shopping item-foreshadowing, also it creates that sense of authority with the shopkeeper and customer. Our final idea, which we are using currently for our production was a simple semi-detached house, we thought this would be very effective has it is a very simplistic location, and that would provide less anticipation for something thrilling, also many films have used houses has locations for the exact same purpose e.g t
